CNN Radio

About two weeks ago I did a quickie phone interview with CNN Radio. I don’t think it’s available online anywhere, but if anyone has a copy of it, let me know so I can post it on the site.

It’s funny how easy it’s become for me to do phone interviews like that. It was only 5 years or so ago that I suffered from horrible phone anxiety. I was scared to answer phones or make phone calls to strangers. I had to take a journalism class to fill a core requirement in college and it was one of the most difficult parts of getting my degree because I hated interviewing people. I would have dropped it to take an English class instead, but that required talking to someone at the registrar, which would have required me to talk to a stranger. If I’d been able to do that, I wouldn’t have wanted to drop the class to begin with, so I stuck it out.

Now I’m perfectly cool talking to reporters or calling clerks about billing questions. It’s part of the overall self-confidence I’ve gained from my weight-loss and just feeling more comfortable in my own skin. And there is plenty of skin to feel comfortable in 🙂
